An early Class A Climax Shop Number unknown. This is possibly one of the first 10 Class A locomotives built. The early wood-framed trucks can be clearly seen in the photograph. The globe valve above the engine was the throttle on early Climax locomotives.

Note that on the vertical boiler Class A Climax the water tank end was considered the front of the locomotive.
