Site dedication as written by the website's original author, Ed Vasser.
Site Dedication
The Climax Locomotives web site is dedicated to the memory of Charles Darwin Scott (February 9, 1828 - September 28, 1912) - lumberman and inventor of the Climax Patent Geared Locomotive.
And to Walter Christie Casler (January 23, 1905 - April 1, 1997) - employee of the Climax Manufacturing Company and the Heisler Locomotive Works.
The life long efforts of Walter Casler in researching and preserving information about the Climax Locomotive along with the history of logging railroads in Pennsylvania, cannot be understated. Without Mr. Casler’s work, this web site would not have been possible.
I also wish to express my thanks to historians and authors: Thomas T. Taber III, Benjamin F. J. Kline, Jr. and Thomas Lawson, Jr., whos works and research lead to my interest in the Climax Locomotive.
Special thanks to all the individuals that have contributed photographs, information and corrections to the site. Rail fans are a special breed - always willing to share their knowledge.
