Charles D. Scott was the inventor of the Climax Locomotive. This thread contains information about the inventor that is pertinent to the development of the Climax Engine, but not necessary the locomotive itself.

Charles Darwin Obituary is listed on the Find A Grave Website. Here is a link to the pertinent information of his life and his suicide. Sad ending to a storied man.

An ancestorial search to find George DeWitt Gilbert ends up being hard to tack down and information is limited. Record show that he was a civil engineer who lived in Corry, Pennsylvania his entire life. He was a farmer and had helped design a steam threshing machine. He was married to Cora M. Gates, a daughter of Panama E. Gates (nee Briggs). Panama's second marriage was Charles D. Scott, the inventor of the Climax Locomotive. So that relationship of George D. Gilbert to Charles D Scott would have been his stepdaughter's husband. His pictures are below.
Sources are Ancestry.com public files.
