Whenever I am researching information about a subject I like to have all the facts at hand for an easy comparison of details. Sometimes, like with the case of the Climax development, that can't always be possible due to poor recordkeeping, age of the facts or things just get lost over time and organization.
With that in mind, I present to you here the many patents of the Climax engine. One, the Gilbert patent, the relative of Charles Scott who kept his name off of the original patent filing in dishonesty. Number two, the patents of Rush S. Battles, owner of the Climax Mfg. Company. These patents were attempts to improve issues with the Gilbert patent. Lastly, patents from the true inventor, Charles Scott Himself.
I do realize that the one of Battles patent is already on this site, but not quickly at hand here for comparison. My regards to the website owner, Bob Harbison, for his posting and mean no slight.
The patent order presented here is by date. The eventual winner of these patents is Charles Scott, even though the others attempted to circumvent the inventor. After the lawsuit, Charles was penniless from the fight and it availed him with no money.
